South African Ambassador to Argentina Tony Leon met Seychelles Minister for Tourism and Culture Alain St.Ange and together they discussed the potential of Seychelles’ presence in Argentina, Brazil and South America itself.
Ambassador Tony Leon was the leader of the DA (Democratic Alliance) Party in South Africa before becoming the Ambassador of South Africa. He is the official leader of the opposition but has been South Africa’s face in Argentina for the past four years.
The South African ambassador confirmed that South American islands like the Seychelles have real tourism potential. “Their spending power is well known in South Africa and the additional option to include Seychelles is a great way to do it,” the South African ambassador said.
At Discover South Africa 2012, David Germain, director of Seychelles Africa and Americas Tourism, confirmed that he had not only secured commitments from travel agents, but also groups in April 2013, who are now booking with South African airlines Do a combined South Africa and Seychelles holiday.
Seychelles is a founding member of the International Council of Tourism Partnerships (ICTP).
