Emirates A380 makes history in Bali
DUBAI, 9 June 2023 – Emirates’ flagship A380 achieved a milestone last week when it landed at Bali’s Ngurah Rai International Airport, becoming the first-ever scheduled A380 flight to Indonesia.
Amid the cheers and excitement of passengers and spectators, the world’s largest passenger plane slid smoothly to the terminal building with water cannon salutes like rain.
Mohammad Al Attar, Emirates Indonesia Country Manager, said: “The deployment of our iconic A380 aircraft on flights to Denpasar will go a long way towards meeting growing customer demand. We are delighted to have achieved this milestone, which will significantly strengthen Our business plan for our business in Indonesia and the future market.”
The Emirates A380 flying to Bali has a two-class configuration, offering 58 lie-flat seats in business class and 557 seats in economy class.
Emirates launched a daily non-stop service from Dubai to Bali in 2015, adding to its regular service to Jakarta which began in 1992. The airline currently operates 28 weekly flights to Bali and Jakarta for Indonesia. Through partnership agreements with Garuda Indonesia and Batik Air, it has increased connectivity to 29 domestic cities through these two gateways.
In addition to the launch of its flagship A380, Emirates continues to demonstrate its long-term commitment to Indonesian tourism through other initiatives.
In early May, Emirates signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indonesian Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy at Dubai Arabian Tourism Market to continue promoting Indonesia as a preferred travel destination through joint marketing campaigns and programmes.
Passengers from Indonesia can look forward to enjoying the A380’s spacious and comfortable cabin, signature products that provide passengers with the best in-flight experience such as in-flight lounges and an award-winning in-flight entertainment system that includes more than 6,500 on-demand entertainment channels.
The Emirates A380 is currently deployed to 46 destinations, including Dubai, with the potential to expand to nearly 50 destinations by late summer.
