Dubai announces service to verify validity of real estate ads

Starting April 24, residents of Dubai can easily check the validity of real estate advertisements by simply scanning a QR code.

The Dubai Land Department (DLD), through the Real Estate Regulatory Authority (Rera), has issued a notification confirming that it has started implementing a new smart service called Madmoun.

Any real estate advertising license shall issue a QR code under Madmoun accessible through the Trakheesi system.

Beginning April 24, all real estate companies will include the code in their print and audiovisual advertisements for customers using the new service.

In addition to the QR code, residents can also visit DLD’s website to view all other details about the advertisement, including the property’s condition and specifications.

Marwan bin Ghalita, Chief Executive Officer, DLD Rera, said: “The service is in line with DLD’s strategy to leverage technology to develop real estate products under the direction of wise leadership, making Dubai a ‘world leader in real estate investment’. It also supports DLD in realizing Dubai’s economy Agenda ‘D33’ (aimed at) generating new economic value through digital transformation (and strengthening) Dubai’s position as the global capital of the digital economy.”
