Digital transformation is a clear trend in most industries and has become a breakthrough tool in Vietnam’s cultural field and a source of soft power serving the country’s sustainable development.

With the release of Resolution No. 52-NQ/TW of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, the urgent requirement to accelerate digital transformation, and the establishment of the National Digital Transformation Committee, digital transformation has become an inevitable requirement for all walks of life.

Digital transformation brings heritage closer to the public

Huang Fanglan of the Cultural Relics Protection Research Institute of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism said that the application of information digital technology and scientific and technological achievements in the protection of cultural relics has played an important role in the protection of cultural relics. At present, Vietnam has more than 4,000 national-level cultural relics and historic sites, more than 9,000 provincial-level cultural relics and historic sites, and more than 300 national-level intangible cultural heritages. Many relics, especially the key relics, acted quickly and applied digital technology to bring new experiences to tourists.

Many places have also begun to use 3D digital technology to manage, utilize and promote heritage, thereby optimizing its value.

The travel industry is also undergoing a strong digital transformation.
