Despite hard work, Janhvi Kapoor reacts to being called ‘nepo baby’ on social media; says ‘hurts’ | Hindi Film News
Janhvi said she puts effort first and she has always been clear about her purpose in life. According to her, she hopes to live up to the legacy left by her late mother. The actress also clarified that it wasn’t out of arrogance, but rather a desire to give back to her parents and viewers. Janhvi went on to say that while she may have had better access to certain opportunities, she also felt she was at a disadvantage. In that sense, people don’t look at her films from a neutral perspective. So she has to convince them that she has something to offer. She added that she loves movies and she no longer feels sorry for it because she knows she is good at what she does. She’s just warming up, Janhvi told Harper’s Bazaar.
In the same interview, the “Millie” actress also spoke about people’s reactions to her performance and film. Janhvi says it really hurts when she puts in so much effort, sweat and blood, or goes through mental turmoil, and some random, anonymous people online call her a “nepo baby”. According to her, it only takes a second to bring you down to the point of insignificance.
She also went on to say that if people give her constructive criticism, she respects it. According to her, you get to a point where you just have to admit that some people are sad — for lack of a better word — and are looking to take your happiness away.
On the work front, she will next appear in Nitesh Tiwari’s “Bawaal”, co-starring with Varun Dhawan. The actress also has “Mar And Mrs Mahi” by Rajkummar Rao in her kitty.
