A Delta passenger has shared her experience of being asked to affix her window with a security card during an eight-hour flight from France to New York after the sun shades didn’t work.
Content creator Ally Shapiro posted about her experience, sharing footage from the plane showing her windows without blackout shades on the plane.
“We’re on an eight-hour flight from Nîmes to New York, and this is my window,” she says in the video, pointing to an unfinished porthole with no shade. “No curtains, nothing, eight hours, it’s like a $4,000 ticket on Delta, so thank you Delta.”
In a follow-up post, which has been viewed more than 1.4 million times, Ms. Shapiro said she had to take matters into her own hands and make her own drapes — a Delta flight attendant gave her duct tape and safety manuals so she could assemble them A temporary shutter.
She wrote alongside the TikTok video: “When you pay for an insanely expensive 8 hour international flight you would think curtains would be included…they provided me with duct tape and a safety manual (ironically) so I could Tape yourself.” She filmed herself taping up makeshift curtains.
“I used to be a very loyal Delta customer but this is crazy. They made us remove it before landing because management would be upset…shouldn’t they have broken the window and wouldn’t let us replace it Feeling uneasy about your seat?” she added.
Her post garnered more than 66,000 likes and more than 500 comments, many of whom asked if the airline would offer her a refund or a seat replacement (both options, which she confirmed were not offered).
Delta Air Lines did not immediately respond independentrequest for comment.
