Da Nang, Vietnam hold the first tourism roadshow in Delhi
The event is organised in partnership with VietJet Air to introduce Da Nang to Indian tourism partners
The New Delhi Da Nang Tourism Roadshow will be held on August 4, 2022 by the Da Nang Ministry of Tourism in cooperation with VietJet Air. The roadshow showcases destinations and introduces new direct flight routes connecting Da Nang and major cities in India.
The event presents to Indian tourism partners Da Nang, one of the hottest destinations in Asia, the city of exciting events and festivals, and contains all information on tourism products and services in Da Nang and Central Vietnam, especially leisure, MICE and weddings, aiming to promote tourism exchanges between Da Nang and India.
“Given the remarkable growth in trade and business exchanges between Vietnam and India, now is a golden time for us to strengthen mutual understanding and cooperation to promote tourism recovery and growth,” said Nguyen Thị Hoai An, director of the Da Nang Tourism Promotion Center, the event organizer.
“Danang India Tourism Roadshow 2022 is a great opportunity for us to showcase our beautiful seaside city and its diverse tourism products and services as well as promote MICE and wedding destinations to India,” said Nguyen. She believes the event “opens a new chapter in tourism cooperation between New Delhi and Da Nang, Vietnam”.
The event was attended by more than 90 guests including Pham Thanh Chau, Ambassador of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to India, Rajiv Mehra, Chairman of the Indian Association of Travel Agents, Indian tourism companies and wedding planners.
Speaking at the roadshow, Pham Sanh Chau highlighted the remarkable growth in outbound tourism from India due to pent-up demand over the past two years. According to Pham, the average number of visas for Indians entering Vietnam has surged 24 times after COVID-19, from 250 visas per day before COVID-19 to the current 6,000 visas per day. In this regard, the Vietnamese embassy has received many requests for weddings or conferences in Vietnam.
Vietjet to launch direct flights between India and Vietnam, including Da Nang
In partnership with Da Nang, VietJet Air has announced plans for a new route that will connect major cities in India and major destinations in Vietnam, including Da Nang, in partnership with Da Nang to organize the 2022 Da Nang Tourism Roadshow in India.
VietJet Air will launch two non-stop routes linking Mumbai and New Delhi with Da Nang from October 17 to 18. The airline will operate three more routes from Bengaluru (Bangalore), Hyderabad and Ahmedabad to Da Nang on November 28, 29 and December 1 respectively.
Additional services from India’s major cities New Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Ahmedabad to Vietnam’s economic and tourism hubs of Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Da Nang and Phu Quoc will also start operating in September.

Vietnam, India strengthen cooperation memorandum of understanding
The signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding on Tourism Cooperation and Partnership was held at the 2022 Da Nang Tourism Roadshow in India, attended by ambassadors and tourism businesses.
Da Nang Tourism Promotion Center (DTPC), an agency under the Ministry of Tourism specializing in destination marketing and promotion, has established a partnership with Global Aviation Services Ptv. Ltd (GASPL) promotes Da Nang in India. Under the MoU, the Da Nang agency pledged to support Indian clients who want to learn more about the new destination.
Since 2017, Global Aviation Services has consulted with DTPC to promote its activities in India and the company is also the coordinator of the 2022 Da Nang Tourism Roadshow in India.
GASPL Group Managing Director Prabodh Tipnis believes that the company’s recent collaboration with the Da Nang Tourism Promotion Centre and the strengthening of air connections from various Indian cities to Da Nang will witness a surge in tourism from different tourism sectors. “The Da Nang Tourism Board will now have a local address in India that can be reached through our offices in India. The Da Nang Tourism Association (DTA) has joined the MoU with the Indian Network of MICE Agents (NIMA) to develop the MICE segment. The DTA will respond to its partners’ requests for MICE products and services, while attracting more MICE groups through its partnership with NIMA.
The partnership established in 2019 led to a series of webinars in 2020 co-organized by DTA and NIMA to provide Indian travel agents with destination knowledge.
According to NIMA National Coordinator Jagdeep Bhagat, the organization is keen to continue its relationship with the Da Nang Tourism Authority and believes in a lasting, constructive and progressive partnership between the two organizations for mutual benefit.
