Da Nang and Phuket strengthen tourism and trade cooperation

Celebrating its tenth anniversary Vietnam-Thailand Strategic Partnership From 2013 to 2023, the Governor of Phuket Province led a delegation to visit Da Nang in central Vietnam.

During the meeting, Chairman of Da Nang City People’s Committee Li Zhongzheng, introducing the economic and social achievements of Da Nang City in the first half of 2023. He highlighted areas for development and potential investment such as tourism, business and high-tech industries.

As part of a strategic initiative to strengthen relations between Da Nang and Phuket, Mr. Chinh has initiated several initiatives. These measures include strengthening bilateral tourism, stimulating import and export activities, promoting investment in seaport infrastructure, opening direct flights between Da Nang and Thailand, and quickly finalizing a memorandum of cooperation between the two regions.

Mr. Governor of Phuket Narong OnsooRecognizing the potential of Da Nang, the strategic significance of the Phuket Tourism and Trade Council was introduced. He emphasized Phuket’s strong interest in Da Nang’s investment environment and expressed hope for continued cooperation. In addition, he proposed to nominate the Chairman of the Tourism Council as Honorary Consul to further promote this burgeoning partnership.
