China Airlines and ITA Airlines codeshare to expand Italian route network news

China Airlines announced the cooperation with ITA Airlines to realize the code sharing of flight CI075/076 on Taipei-Rome route. The codeshare agreement will also be extended to other destinations within Italy, promoting the development of both markets by simplifying travel between Taiwan and Italy.
The continuous expansion of the European network will enhance China Airlines’ diversified products and services to meet the needs of passengers.

Due to the strong potential of the Taiwan-Italy market during the post-epidemic tourism recovery, China Airlines currently operates three direct flights a week between Taipei and Rome. The A350 has been earmarked as the mainstay of the airline’s next-generation long-haul routes, with a configuration of 32 premium business, 31 premium economy and 243 economy seats. China Airlines codeshares its non-stop Rome flights with ITA Airlines, which will not only generate more revenue, but also provide more convenient service to destinations in the Italian region. Passengers will be able to take connecting flights from Rome to many other popular regional destinations, including Venice, Turin, Genoa, Trieste, Florence, Bologna, Bari, Brindisi, Lamezia Terme, Reno Gio Calabria, Palermo and Catania.

China Airlines has been deeply involved in the European market for 40 years and has built a comprehensive flight network. Prague, Czech Republic will be the sixth new destination on July 18. Existing European destinations include Rome (Italy), Vienna (Austria), Frankfurt (Germany), Amsterdam (Netherlands) and London (UK). Therefore, there are nearly 30 European flights every week, making China Airlines the airline with the most direct flights to Europe and the busiest flights. China Airlines also carries out code sharing with SkyTeam member airlines such as KLM, Air France, Air Europa, and Alitalia, expanding its route network from self-operated destinations to 16 cities including the United Kingdom, France, Spain, and Italy. A partnership with Deutsche Bahn provides rail connections from Frankfurt to 13 other cities in Germany. These robust and mutually beneficial partnerships will help expand China Airlines’ presence in the European market and strengthen its position as the leading brand for travel between Taiwan and Europe.

China Airlines is currently focusing on the transit market between Europe and Southeast Asia. In addition to launching new flights to Cebu, Da Nang and Chiang Mai and operating more than 150 weekly round-trip flights to Southeast Asia, more destinations and services are being added to the network through codeshares with other airlines , including: sharing routes from Taipei to Singapore and Bali with Garuda Indonesia, and flights from Jakarta and Bali to Sydney and Melbourne, Australia; Connecting flight to Jiji Island. The agreements provide greater flexibility for business, tourism and transit passengers flying between Taiwan, Indonesia and Thailand.
