Cambodia recognizes Vietnamese travel passport Vietnam simplifies entry requirements

Le Thi Thu Hang, a spokesman for Vietnam’s foreign ministry, said a document approved by the Vietnamese government on Jan. 18 to simplify entry procedures for foreigners will take effect immediately.

“The decision is effective from the date of signing,” Hang confirmed in response to questions from VnExpress International at a press conference on Thursday.

She said Deputy Prime Minister Pham Binh Minh agreed in principle to simplify administrative procedures for foreigners entering Vietnam.

Therefore, foreign tourists holding valid documents (including visa, visa exemption, residence card, and temporary residence card) can enter Vietnam without prior permission from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Immigration Department of local authorities.

Previously, anyone who wanted to enter Vietnam had to prepare a list of documents, including approvals from the People’s Committee and the Ministry of Immigration, proof of vaccinations, PCR test results and proof of health insurance for quarantine.

Hang said those without all the above documents must obtain approval from the province and relevant ministries under the Law on the Entry, Exit, Transit and Residence of Foreigners in Vietnam.

The regulation also applies to overseas Vietnamese and their relatives, she added. Speed ​​International
