Bollywood actor Arshad Warsi clarifies he has zero knowledge of stocks after SEBI bans him
Bollywood star Arshad Warsi and his wife Maria Goretti are in trouble. The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has reportedly banned several entities from trading in securities, including the actor and his wife, YouTuber Manish Mishra and the promoters of Sadhna Broadcast Shreya Gupta, Gaurav Gupta, Saurabh Gupta, Pooja Aggarwal and Varun Media Market One case involved uploading a misleading video on a YouTube channel advising investors to buy company stock.
Under the interim order, the actor of “Munna Bhai” made a profit of Rs. 2.943 lakh and Maria Goretti a profit of Rs. 37.56 lakh.
However, the actor appealed to everyone on Twitter not to believe the rumours. He also mentioned that he and his wife lacked knowledge of the stock market.
“Please don’t believe everything you read in the news. Maria and I knew zero about stocks, took advice and invested in Sharda, and like so many others, lost all our hard earned money,” he tweeted Special wrote.
The investigation began after SEBI received complaints alleging that certain entities were involved in price fixing and selling of shares in Sadhna Broadcast Ltd and Sharpline Broadcast Ltd.
