Batik Air, a Malaysian airline formerly known as Malindo Air, will operate six weekly direct flights between Auckland and Perth from 24 August 2023.
The introduction of the route will provide seamless connections to both Bali and Kuala Lumpur via Perth, using Boeing 737-8 aircraft with 12 business class and 150 economy class seats.
In conjunction with the launch, the airline is offering fares from Auckland to Perth from NZ$599 in economy and NZ$1,549 in business. In addition, Auckland-Kuala Lumpur flights start from NZ$629 in economy class and NZ$2,699 in business class; from Auckland to Denpasar and Bali, NZ$759 in economy class and NZ$2,389 in business class.
All prices listed are one-way and include a 20kg baggage allowance in Economy Class and a 40kg baggage allowance in Business Class.
Discounted rates are available for pre-purchased meals and additional baggage requests. Meals and drinks can be purchased on board on all flights.

- Auckland (AKL) to Perth (PER): OD 196 departs at 7am and arrives at 10:40am.
- Auckland (AKL) to Bali (DPS): OD 196 departs at 7am, ID 6008 arrives at DPS at 5.55pm (Note: Perth to Bali will be operated by Batik Air Indonesia flight)
- Auckland (AKL) to Kuala Lumpur: OD 196 departs at 7am and arrives in Kuala Lumpur at 6.10pm.
From September 24th, due to the change of Auckland’s daylight saving time, OD195 and OD196 will arrive and depart one hour later respectively.
