Bamboo Airways has launched their 2023 Status Matching campaign, apply now if you are planning a trip to Vietnam

Vietnamese Bamboo Airways again Opened a new status matching activity Tier matches from rival Vietnam Airlines and SkyTeam, Star Alliance and oneworld alliance carrier programs are invited.

Bamboo Airways will match all four of its Bamboo Club levels, but higher levels above Silver will require flight activity to process a match.

Also, it should be noted that Bamboo Airways is not a member of any alliances, so unless you plan to actually fly with this airline, there is no point in being matched with them.

Naturally, this leaves an exclusive target group of Vietnamese tourists, who can be either domestic or international based on Bamboo Airways’ current route network.

Loyalty Program Bamboo Club will send members the latest updated tier matching programs from other airlines in airline alliances around the world to the Bamboo Club card. The specific content is as follows:

1. Application time: From 01/01/2023 to 31/12/2023

2. Eligible members: Customers who hold valid membership cards of all domestic and global airlines/international airline membership cards or other airline membership cards.

3. Application conditions:

• Diamond/First: Members need at least 01 business class flight Card holders with Bamboo Airways from June 1, 2022 to December 31, 2023. This flight needs to be completed before card level matching. Issuing Hard Cards: Applicable.
• Gold: Members need at least 01 economy class flight Card holders with Bamboo Airways from June 1, 2022 to December 31, 2023. This flight needs to be completed before card level matching.
• Emerald: No conditions are required.

The desired flight is a single segment, not a round trip (at least that’s how I read it).

As can be seen from the general information, the card can only be sent within Vietnam and is only included in the First/Diamond status. Gold and Emerald members have to pay VND 50,000 to make and send the card.

What are the practical benefits of the program?

In this case, FIRST level matching seems to be the most ideal, and all Star Alliance Gold cards are eligible, as well as SkyTeam Elite Plus and oneWorld Emerald.

Here are the details of the first benefit:

√ Access to priority check-in counters – Noi Bai, Da Nang, Tan Son Nhat airports / Business check-in counters – at remaining airports (+ 6 extra guests).
√ Access to the Business Class lounge*.
√ Priority seat selection.
√ An additional 20 kg of checked baggage is waived per flight.
√ Priority baggage tagging service.
√ Use the Priority Line at the gate.
√ Free upgrade to Bamboo Business Class if your original seat class is full and a higher seat class is available at check-in or boarding.
√ Complimentary upgrade to Premium Economy when you purchase an Economy Saver ticket or higher seat class and offer a Premium Economy seat at check-in or on board.
√ Priority arrangements in case of flight abnormalities.
√ Bonus points earned on your birthday (1,500 points).
√ Accumulate and redeem points for all services offered by Bamboo Airlines and specific services offered by Bamboo Club partners.

For international flights operated by Bamboo Airways (except charter flights), first-class members can enter the first-class VIP lounge/business class VIP lounge, including the domestic lounge on the departure section and the international lounge on the arrival section. This offer is only applicable to Tier 1 members (not applicable to accompanying persons of Tier 1 and Diamond members).

Before applying for a status match, you must register a membership number on the website and fill in all your details in the google docs.

Bamboo Airways also requires you to submit your passport photo and frequent flyer program membership card. If you are not satisfied with submitting your passport photo, unfortunately the program has ended.
