Lively Ho Chi Minh City is fun now
In recent years, Vietnam’s economy has boomed. It is not only visible in numbers, but also experienced in a city tour of Ho Chi Minh City.
First, there are far more people walking into the city center at night, and there are more rooftop bars and clubs like Bangkok, than there were six or three years ago. Relax while watching the majestic flowing Saigon River…or rather, it’s cool. You can also see Vietnamese beauties coming and going in clothes that show their figure.
Along Dong Khi Street, the main street in Ho Chi Minh City, there is a hotel where you can feel the excitement of Vietnam. That is “The Reverie Saigon”, which opened in the summer of 2015. In Ho Chi Minh City, where there are no five-star hotels, the hotel has gathered gorgeous decorations and presented them with a strong impact.
The more eye-catching one so far is “Park Hyatt Saigon”, but with “The Reverie Saigon”, some wealthy tourists think “I want to live in the most luxurious place!” It is also popular with people who like overwhelming things Welcome. You should know what that means the moment you set foot in the hotel.
The elevator hall next to the bustling Tongqi Street is another world in an instant. Huge Venetian glass chandeliers hang from the ceiling, and colorful crystals are scattered around. The crystal represents a map of Vietnam, and you can feel the enthusiasm of Ho Chi Minh City, saying: “What a beautiful map!” The good economy and the momentum of the country have been exuded from the entrance, just like the Dragon Palace in the city.
When I got on the elevator, I saw a large amber stone that I had never seen before. Arriving at the reception on the 7th floor, the entire marble wall is covered with vivid tiles brought by Italian artisans.
Can guests sit on a 5m sofa…? Gorgeous enough to hesitate. There are only two ostrich sofas in the world, which are made of Italian “Columbus Steel”, and the other is owned by the late Michael Jackson.
Vietnamese millionaire builds ultra-luxury hotel
Why did “The Reverie Saigon” become such a gorgeous specification?
The boss is a millionaire and a senior executive of a large company in Vietnam. Having traveled all over the world and visited many first-class hotels, when he decided to build a hotel, his goal was to create a grand theme: “Vietnam to Dubai”.
As the economy continues to prosper and more and more companies are expanding into the region from all over the world, I wanted to create a hotel in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam’s largest commercial city, to build on this momentum. In 1999, the seven-star hotel Burj Al Arab opened in Dubai, attracting celebrities from all over the world.
However, making it the tallest building in the world or constructing an exotic structure is very difficult in reality. Therefore, the owner tried every means to make the interior more luxurious. The furniture comes from well-known Italian brands such as Giorgetti, Visionaire, Cassina, and B&B Italia. The hotel itself is like a museum of Italian luxury furniture, with Giorgetti Suite and Visionaire Suite and suites with furniture from various brands. “No other hotel in the world has such top-of-the-line Italian furniture,” asserts Giulio Cappellini, artistic director of Milan-based design firm Cappellini.
The 224 rooms are divided into 12 categories, ranging in size from 43 square meters to 313 square meters. The “Saigon Suite” (276 sqm) pictured has two bathrooms, a bedroom and a spacious living room with atrium access to the second floor.
As the name suggests, the “romantic suite” is a couple’s room, and the bathroom is where we put a lot of effort into it. There was a big chair with a mirror and a mysterious king chair, and when I asked the hotel staff “what is this chair for?” because there was only one seat, one in the tub and one on the chair. The time they spent, which can only be experienced in this room, was extremely sweet.
Although there are such special rooms, what is amazing about “The Reverie Saigon” is that the standard rooms are of a high standard. Even the smallest size is 43 square meters, which is a comfortable size, and all rooms use bedding from Frette in Italy. The 400-thread-count sheets are so soft you don’t want to get out of bed (the suites use 600-thread-count sheets!).
Outside the window is the magnificent Saigon River. Lying on the bed, you can experience the symbolic river of Vietnam. The level of view and bed is something you can’t imagine in a standard room. The price is around 40,000 yen, which is a great deal considering the contents.
Looking at the Saigon River from the room, I feel that “The Reverie Saigon” is the hotel that can best feel the current Ho Chi Minh City. The riverside is covered with signboards of well-run enterprises, and the continuous construction boom across the river, whether it is a company or a factory, is part of the landscape.
Ho Chi Minh City is fine now. The reason for this feeling is that the hotel has a clear theme of “Make Vietnam Dubai”. Spending time at your dream hotel should be the perfect recharge for your motivation.
