Sri Lanka

24 Sri Lanka Travel Instagram Photos, Best Travel Destinations 2019.

Is it me or everyone you know in Sri Lanka or go to Sri Lanka?

Since Lonely Planet voted Sri Lanka the best country to visit in 2019, I can only see beautiful people vacationing in beautiful places in Sri Lanka in my feed.

Tourist arrivals to the South Asian country, which until less than a decade ago was plagued by civil war, soared from 447,890 in 2009 to 2.1 million in 2018, protector report. Thanks to updates to Sri Lanka’s photogenic rail system, it’s now easier than ever to get around and visit much of the country – especially the north – which isn’t always safe for tourists to visit.

When I asked some of my colleagues who had been to Sri Lanka (lucky thing!) why they liked it so much, they couldn’t possibly narrow it down to just one thing.

The parents of one of Lauren’s colleagues had just returned from a holiday in Sri Lanka. “They love it, they say it’s really beautiful and the people are very hospitable,” she said.

Another Andi said that if she had to pick one highlight, it would be Minneriya National Park.

“The best thing I did was go to Minneriya National Park and we did an open jeep elephant safari and we were literally surrounded by hundreds of elephants,” she said.

“We also had great cooking lessons, afternoon tea and croquet at a colonial hotel in Colombo, went to an elephant orphanage and the Temple of the Sacred Tooth…I cried when we left.”

Throughout the holidays, I watched another colleague, Rachel, have an incredible time in Sri Lanka.

“The food is great, the people are very hospitable and the place is very diverse. One minute we’re climbing 1000 steps to see a 5th century rock fortress and the next we’re flying down jungle rapids. It’s incredible,” she told me, just to further the friction.

According to Lonely Planet, Sri Lanka is now “more suitable than ever for families on every budget, adrenaline junkies, ecotourists, health seekers and foodies.” Where the holiday balances.

Other must-sees listed by Lonely Planet include (safely) basking on Tangalla’s beaches, Anuradhapura ruins, train ride through Ella Gap, Kandy town , Sigiriya Rock and wander around the UNESCO World Heritage city of Galle.

Since Instagram has become one of the best places to research travel destinations, here are 24 beautiful photos from travelers that prove exactly why Sri Lanka is the place to be in 2019.
