Vietnam is a Southeast Asian country with a diverse landscape that offers travelers adventure, food, and beautiful beaches. Da Lat City isn’t on everyone’s radar, but it should be. Da Lat is the capital city of Lâm Ä á»ng province in southern Vietnam. It has a mild climate year-round and has many beautiful attractions for tourists to visit.
10 Datanla Falls
Waterfalls are the main attraction of any trip to Southeast Asia, and Datanla Falls is one of the best. About 5 kilometers from Da Lat city, these scenic waterfalls offer more than just incredible views.
At Datanla Falls, visitors can also try a high ropes course or canyoning to experience the adventurous side of Vietnam. Although there are many steps to the waterfall, if you choose to ride the roller coaster, the descent will be faster. This separate cart is controlled by a handbrake operated by the person in the cart. It’s the perfect way to end a fun day exploring this natural wonder.
9 Lingfu Pagoda
Linh Phuc Pagoda is an important cultural site just 6.5 km from Da Lat city. This Buddhist temple is designed with mosaic tiles and intricate details, making it one of the most popular attractions when planning a trip to Da Lat.
The pagoda was built in 1949 and completed in 1952. The dragon-shaped column at the front of the pagoda is made of glass fragments, and there is a large bell on the second floor of the pagoda for visitors to make wishes and pray to the Buddha.
8 French Quarter
No trip to Da Lat is complete without a visit to the historic French Quarter. Da Lat has a lot of French influence, and some refer to the city as Vietnam’s little Paris. Sophisticated French architecture has its roots in the early 1900s, when the French government built Da Lat as a resort town to remind them of the feeling of home.
With its charming villas, the French Quarter feels like stepping into a part of Europe from all over the world.
7 Bidoup Nui Ba National Park
Outdoor adventure lovers can enjoy the breathtaking views of central Vietnam at Bidoup Nui Ba National Park. About 33 kilometers from Da Lat, you can drive to the park in one of the largest nature reserves in the country in less than an hour.
Established in 2004, the park is a great place for a day of hiking or even two days of camping.
6 crazy house
A true work of art, The Crazy House (also known as Hang Nga Guest House) is a unique place to stay when visiting Da Lat. Unlike anything else in the region (or world), The Crazy House was developed by artist Dang Viet Nga to express her wildest imagination.
Dang Viet Nga has a Ph.D. In architecture, he said the crazy house was a project that was never really finished. She describes it as an ever-changing living structure, so guests have wanted to come back over the years to see how the scene has developed.
5 Goulan Village
Escape the city and explore the scenic villages of the countryside with a trip to Koran Village, just 45 minutes from Da Lat. Nestled in a small valley, this beautiful Vietnamese village in Lam Dong province looks like something out of a fairy tale.
Visitors can spend a few hours here or a full day wandering the unpaved paths, sitting down for lunch, and snapping photos of the lush green countryside.
4 Elephant Falls
Another waterfall not to be missed when visiting Da Lat is Elephant Waterfall. This great waterfall takes some trek to get to, but there are handrails on most of the way. It is located more than 40 kilometers outside of Da Lat and can be entered individually for an entrance fee of VND 20,000, or as part of a tour. Wide waterfalls plunge into the lush greenery of the jungle, creating a colorful backdrop for photos.
3 Dalat Railway Station
Da Lat Railway Station is one of the city’s most notable architectural features. The building is a vibrant yellow, heavily influenced by European design. It was built by the French in 1932 and is considered to be the oldest railway station in Vietnam.
Nearby is Dalat Train Cafe, where travelers can grab a bite to eat in a historic train carriage before heading back to the city center.
2 Lamway Plaza
Lam Dong Province contracted the Lam Vien Plaza project in 2009, and in 2016 this unique building opened to the public. After six years of hard work and 681 billion VND, Lim Vien Square is now open to tourists daily from 7:00 am to 10:00 pm local time.
Visitors will be amazed by the shapes, colors and sizes of these structures. The Sunflower Dome, a yellow and green building designed to look like petals, is an entertainment facility. The iconic green building is the Doha Café, where guests can enjoy a drink, meal or dessert.
1 Dalat Palace No. 1 (King’s Palace)
Bao Dai’s first palace, Dinh 1, is a breathtaking mansion often sought after by couples as a backdrop for photos taken on special days. Scenic gardens extend in front of the palace, adding to the grandeur of the estate.
The palace was built in the 1930s by French millionaire Robert Clément Bourgery, which is why the building is reminiscent of European architecture of the same era.
