“Kanku Tabihaku 2019” will be held at Kansai International Airport from May 18th to 19th for two days. Various government tourism offices have booths and hold seminars.
Taiwan, which has many flight connections with Kansai International Airport, also has a booth at the Osaka Office of the Taiwan Tourism Association. Taiwan has become a standard tourist destination in Japan, but most of them are concentrated in Taipei. The Taiwan Tourism Association is promoting other regions outside of Taipei. The booth will use the theme of “Choose the Downtown Slow City” to introduce Hualien, Tainan and other regions in Taiwan. It conveys not just Taipei, but the charm of all parts of Taiwan.
In addition, a stamping event will be held in cooperation with airlines connecting Kansai International Airport and Taiwan. You can visit the booths of China Airlines (China Airlines), EVA Air, and Tigerair Taiwan, which are arranged around the booths in Taiwan.
Every airline has its own draws, but Tigerair has lavish prizes in store. Tiger Airways is running a free 10kg carry-on suitcase campaign with a total on-board weight of 10kg. A 4,000-yen coupon for a round trip from Osaka to Taipei/Takao can be obtained with a full prize of 10.00 kg. There are also participation prizes, so if you have time, be sure to try it.
Another feature of the Kansai International Airport Travel Expo is that various tourism bureaus hold seminars, and the Osaka Office of the Taiwan Tourism Association holds a seminar on train travel in Taiwan. Taiwan and Japan belong to the same cultural area of Chinese characters, and there are 32 train stations with the same name. As the official photographer, Yuta Murakami, a railway photographer who accompanied the 32 stations of the same name in Taiwan, came on stage as a lecturer. Mr. Murakami, who has been fascinated by trains in Taiwan since participating in this event, introduced his own photos and talked about the charm of train travel in Taiwan.
In addition, the Osaka Office of the Taiwan Tourism Association is currently holding an event to celebrate its 20th anniversary. Mr. Akita from the Osaka office introduced the event.
